GoGenderSorter - Bulk Name & Email Gender Classifier

GoGenderSorter is a Windows desktop utility designed to process large text-based email and name lists and organize their entries into separate files according to the gender most commonly associated with the detected first name.

The application extracts a possible first name from the supplied name field or from the local part of an email address, normalizes it, checks several included name dictionaries, and saves the processed line to the appropriate result category.

How It Works

1. Place one or more TXT files in the configured input directory.
2. Configure the application using the included settings.ini file.
3. Start GoGenderSorter using the supplied launcher.
4. The application reads each line and extracts a possible name.
5. The name is normalized and checked against the included databases.
6. The processed line is saved to a TXT file corresponding to the detected category.

Supported Input Examples

The application can process common line structures such as:

• user@example.com
• user@example.com=John
• user@example.com:additional-data
• user@example.com;additional-data
• Four-field lines separated by the pipe character.
• Four-field lines separated by tabs.

Depending on the input format, the program uses either the supplied name or the portion of the email address before the @ symbol. Separators, selected special characters, short fragments, and configured stop words can be removed during normalization.

Result Categories

Depending on the available data and selected search method, results may include:

• Male - the detected name is commonly associated with male records.
• Female - the detected name is commonly associated with female records.
• Male-Female - the name appears in both categories or is ambiguous.
• Unknown - no sufficiently reliable match was found.
• Empty - no usable name could be extracted.
• Stopword - the extracted value matched a configured stop word or mask.
• Find categories - a possible match was found using the extended search method.

Output files are named using the configured checker ID and result category, for example:

• 1_male.txt
• 1_female.txt
• 1_male-female.txt
• 1_unknown.txt

GoGenderSorter does not guarantee 100% accurate results.

Gender classification is an estimate based on name dictionaries, spelling patterns, and matching rules. Accuracy depends on the quality and structure of the input data, the availability of a recognizable first name, language, country, transliteration, spelling, abbreviations, usernames, aliases, and the completeness of the included dictionaries.

Incorrect or ambiguous results may occur with:

• Unisex or gender-neutral names.
• Names used differently across countries and cultures.
• Initials, nicknames, aliases, and abbreviated names.
• Misspelled or transliterated names.
• Company names, department names, role-based addresses, and automated mailboxes.
• Email addresses that do not contain a real first name.
• New, uncommon, regional, or missing names.

An Unknown or ambiguous result is normal when the application cannot find a sufficiently suitable match. Enabling the extended search can increase the number of matches, but it can also increase the possibility of false positive classifications.

The software estimates the category commonly associated with a name. It does not determine a person's biological sex, legal sex, personal gender identity, or preferred form of address. Results should be reviewed before use and must not be treated as verified personal information.

Privacy and Data Processing

Input TXT files are processed locally on the user's computer. The sorting workflow does not upload input lists or generated result files to the license server.

An internet connection is required for license validation. During validation, the application sends the license key and a generated hardware identifier to the licensing server. The license may be associated with the computer on which it is activated.

Responsible Use

Process only data that you own or are legally authorized to use. The software must not be used as the sole basis for employment, credit, insurance, medical, legal, identity, eligibility, security, or other high-impact decisions.

GoGenderSorter does not verify whether an email address exists, is deliverable, belongs to a particular person, or contains accurate information. It is a list organization and name-based classification tool, not an email validation service.

By using the software, the customer acknowledges that name-based gender classification is probabilistic and that complete accuracy cannot be guaranteed.
