GoCountrySorter - Smart Email Country Detection & Sorting Tool

GoCountrySorter is a high-performance Windows application designed to analyze, classify, and organize email lists by the most likely country associated with a person's name. It processes large text files in parallel and automatically saves records into separate country-based result files or directories.

The application extracts a name from each input record or, when no separate name is available, derives a possible name from the email address. Numbers and common separators in email usernames can be normalized before the country lookup. For example, a username such as maria_1985 can be analyzed as maria.

Country Detection Modes

• Local: uses the included local JSON name dictionary.
• Detector: uses the integrated name detector and its embedded first-name and surname dataset.
• Confirm: accepts a country only when both detection methods return the same country. This is the recommended mode when accuracy is more important than the number of classified records.

Result Categories

• Country: the record passed the configured country confidence checks.
• Unknown: the available information was insufficient or too ambiguous.
• Empty: no usable name could be extracted from the record.
• Stopword: the record matched an excluded name or email mask.
• Other Countries TLD: the inferred country did not match the email domain extension when TLD comparison was enabled.

Important Accuracy Notice

Country detection results are not 100% accurate and are not guaranteed. GoCountrySorter performs statistical country inference using names, surnames, probability distributions, popularity ranks, and optional domain information. The result represents the most likely association found in the available datasets.

The detected country must not be treated as confirmed nationality, citizenship, residence, ethnicity, birthplace, or current physical location. A person may live in a different country, use an international email service, have a culturally shared name, use a nickname, or use an email username that does not contain a real name.

Some names are common in several countries and may remain in the Unknown category when the difference between possible countries is too small. Rare names, spelling mistakes, transliterations, incomplete names, aliases, company names, and random usernames may also reduce accuracy.

Email domain extensions are not reliable proof of location. For example, a person using a .com, .net, or country-specific domain may live in an unrelated country. TLD comparison should therefore be used only as an additional sorting rule.

Detection thresholds can be adjusted to change the balance between coverage and accuracy. Lower thresholds classify more records but may produce more incorrect country assignments. Higher thresholds improve selectivity but place more records in the Unknown category.

Recommended Use

GoCountrySorter is suitable for organizing large datasets, preliminary segmentation, research, data cleanup, and workflows where country results will be reviewed or used as probabilistic metadata. It should not be used as the only source for legal, financial, identity, immigration, compliance, or other high-impact decisions.
