How It Works

1. Choose your source. Enter the web address of the resource you want to download.

4. Start the application. The downloader makes its first request and continues running automatically.
5. Keep it running. Subsequent non-empty downloads replace the contents of the destination file.

Configuration Options

The settings.ini file contains four main settings:

• content_url - The URL from which content will be downloaded.
• content_url_timeout - The request timeout, in seconds.
• content_update_interval - The waiting interval between download attempts, in minutes.
• content_file - The path and filename used to save the downloaded content.

Important Information

GoContent Downloader is a direct URL-to-file downloader, not a full website copier or browser automation tool.

It does not execute JavaScript, navigate through login screens, follow links to download an entire website, or automatically collect a page’s images and stylesheets.

The destination file is overwritten when new non-empty content is saved. Previous versions are not archived, so use a dedicated output file rather than a document you need to preserve.

Automatic updates require the application to remain running, an active network connection, and write access to the destination folder. Ensure the output directory exists before starting the application.
